Plagiocephaly (or “Plagio”) is a deformation of the skull caused by repeated & consistent external pressure such as utero constraint, back sleeping or as a result of prematurity or another disorder.
1 in 300 infants exhibit some form of plagiocephaly, although the most serious developmental incidence is just 0.4 to 1 per 1,000 live births. Upon clinical intervention, the average treatment time for most plagio cases is four and a half months1. The most common treatment technique involves the use of a cranial remolding orthosis, shaped specifically for the user’s specific needs. Proper intervention for plagiocephaly involves clinical evaluation, device fitting, and regular follow up evaluations until sufficient progress has been made.

Very kind of you to post links to clinics! Could have done with this a few months ago. My son is currently under going treatment for plagiocephaly with the Steeper Clinic who are doing an absolutely amazing job! It took us a while to find a provider, but I’m happy with my choice. Again, thanks for posting!

Hi there,
Thanks for the good resources list, I wonder whether I could suggest Technology in Motion for a plagiocephaly resource? They have several clinics within the UK.
Cheers!
