In this issue, Catherine Lussenhop, a summer intern at Tamarack Habilitation Technologies and student at Cornell University, shares her understanding of friction trauma. Catherine points out that although pressure is a component of skin wound development, pressure management fails to account for the side-to-side rubbing or “friction”, that also needs to be addressed in order to properly support healthy skin integrity.
