Maybe not featured . . . but, if you look closely at page 133 of the September 21, 2009, issue of People magazine, you will see a Tamarack Flexure Joint™ (740-L) on prosthesis worn by Andre. And, Andre is not a person; he’s a dog. This is a truly touching story about Andre, a stray dog caught in a wolf trap near Wasilla, Alaska. Andre freed himself by chewing off his two left paws. Karen McNaught of Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue saved Andre from certain death. Martin and Amy Kaufmann of OrthoPets in Denver, Colorado, agreed to fabricate two prostheses for Andre.
